The Hearing.

We went to the hearing. It was okay. The doc told the judge about the whole concussion business and it was all fine in the end. Ponyboy threatened some Socs with a broken bottle afterwards and when I heard about it I was starting to get worried that maybe he's going to turn hard like the rest of us, but apparently he's okay so I'm not panicking. He's writing a story for school to balance his low marks. He's been spending lots of time on it. Well, overall I think I can conclude this by saying that I think everything is going to be all right, and maybe even a little better than before.

Ponyboy's changing.

Ponyboy's changing. He's just not himself anymore. He made a huge mess in the house, even though he's usually the neat one in the family. The entire week, he's been in bed. He's been reading books and looking at Soda's yearbooks. He's really bored. Randy came over and wanted to talk to him about the whole thing, but I told him about the whole buisiness with the concussion and all and he left us. Other than that not much happened. It was a pretty uneventful week, overall.

Three days without sleep.

It's been three days now that Ponyboy's been sleeping. I heard about what happened in the hospital. Wow, Dally's mad. When Johnny died he slammed the wall with his fist and ran out. Well, if I know him right he's going to to go rob a store or something. I just hope he doesn't get into any trouble with the cops. Anyway, Ponyboy's been asleep for three days now and he wouldn't eat anything. Kept saying he doesn't like baloney. He kept calling for Mom and Dad and Soda and I, too. He woke up today. I was going to go get soup for him but when I came back he and Soda were both asleep. Maybe 'cause Soda and I havn't any sleep for the entire three days.

The Rumble.

Well, overall a pretty eventful day. First thing's first, we had the rumble. Ponyboy thinks I don't know how many aspirins he took, but I quite realize that he took five. FIVE aspirins! That boy is mad! Well, nothing I can do about it now. We'd just have to go beat up the Socs and then I'll scream my lungs out at him. Fortunately, we taught them a pretty good lesson about messing with us greasers. Ponyboy went to visit Johnny afterwards to tell him about it, and other than that I don't know what happened. Hopefully Johnny's doing better. I want this to end already. If Johnny's not going to make it, he's not going to make it. It doesn't mean the poor guy has to sit there and suffer so long before he does.

Poor Johnny...

I think Johnny's going to die. Ponyboy says the nurses wouldn't let them in 'till Johnny asked them too. He says Johnny is really bad off, he's probably not going to make it. Well, I guess it's a good death. I mean, the fact that he died isn't good, but if you're going to die you might as well die a hero. I didn't actually talk to him, but I looked at him from the entrance of the room and he looked pretty bad. His skin is peeling like a banana, except there isn't anyone there peeling it. I'm worried about Ponyboy, too, though. If Johnny dies, Ponyboy will lose his best friend. He'll be devastated. Dally will be devastated. Wow, if Dally gets as mad as I think he'll be, there's no telling what he'll do! If he jumps Socs and threatens little children when he's calm, what's he going to do when he's angry? Seems to me we don't have much to look forward to...

Things are Going Back to Normal - I Think.

Bloody reporters. All we wanted to do was to see Dally and Johnny, so we waited. Next thing you know, the media's there, pounding us with questions and not letting Ponyboy rest. Man, you'd think life would be easier when your brother's a hero. In any case, Johnny's paralyzed from the hips down, but I'm really not quite sure he'll suvive, sadly. Dally has a few minor burns, but he's generally alright. He'll be fine before the big rumble for sure. Besides, even if he didn't completely heal there's still not a force in the world to stop him from coming to the big rumble. It's Johnny I'm worried about. Ponyboy was real good friends with him, it's going to really hurt him if Johnny passes away. Well, at least Ponyboy's back home.

Ponboy's Back

I can't believe it. Ponyboy's been gone for around, what, two weeks and it feels like I haven't seen him in decades. Apparently, he's been hiding in this church the entire time 'till the fire happened. Wow, he's such a hero. He and Johnny went inside, brought out all the little kids, and then managed to get out themselves before the building collapsed. Wow. First they kill a Soc, then they go to Dally for help, then run away, and now this! What a busy time we've had, trying to squeeze the info out of Dally, and now we find out Ponyboy and Johnny have become heros while they were away. If I hadn't missed him so much, I would say he needs to run away more. 'Course, the factors of getting in trouble with the police and almost dying in the fire might apply too. Anyway, I think that if the police bring them to court now, Johnny and Ponyboy will recieve no sentence.
